Creating a Smile
That Shines

Teeth are meant to last a lifetime, but that doesn’t mean the years won’t take their toll on them. Enamel can become cracked, worn down, and discolored. Ultimately, you may end up with a smile that you’re embarrassed to show off. But this doesn’t have to last the rest of your life! Dr. Verner can use porcelain veneers, teeth whitening, and other procedures that can leave you grinning from ear to ear. Contact Dental House of Pittsburgh today to set up a cosmetic consultation so that you can finally enjoy the perfect teeth you’ve been dreaming of.

Why Choose Dental House of Pittsburgh
for Cosmetic Dentistry?

Porcelain Veneers

When it comes to making several corrections at a time, many dentists will highly recommend using porcelain veneers – thin ceramic shells that cover the front of the tooth. This treatment can hide various flaws, including severe stains, minor chips and cracks, misshapen teeth, and certain gaps. Not only can they last for many years at a time – 10 to 15 on average – but they can resist stains much better than natural teeth or even other cosmetic treatments.

Lumineers®

As you might have guessed from the name, Lumineers® are extremely like veneers; as such, they can be used to make all the same corrections. The main difference is that Lumineers are much thinner, which can make a significant difference if you want to preserve the natural structure of your teeth. Veneers normally require us to remove a small amount of enamel, but with Lumineers, there’s little to no need for such preparations.

Metal-Free Restorations

When you need to repair a broken tooth, you might be afraid that you’ll need to get a crown made from gold or another metal that will stick out like a sore thumb in your mouth. However, Dr. Verner can instead offer restorations made from a tooth-colored ceramic material. Not only will your tooth be protected, but its appearance will be restored as well. Most people can’t even tell the difference between a naturally intact tooth and one with a ceramic crown!

Direct Bonding

It can take multiple appointments to place a porcelain veneer or a crown, but if you only need to make minor corrections, we can improve your smile with just one visit thanks to direct bonding. During this process, we’ll take a composite resin and apply it to the tooth before hardening it with a special light. Bonding can be used to quickly enhance a tooth’s shape and color as well as hide minor chips and other damage.

In-Practice Teeth Whitening

Is there a special event coming up where you’ll want your smile to look its best? A professional whitening at the Dental House of Pittsburgh can have your teeth looking several shades whiter in about an hour. We use the Opalescence Light Cured System, which involves a special gel containing hydrogen peroxide. When this gel is activated by light, the hydrogen peroxide breaks down and bleaches any colored substances in your enamel as well as your dentin.

At-Home Teeth Whitening

If you don’t need immediate results from whitening, you can complete the process at home over the course of a couple of weeks. With the Opalescence take-home kit provided by our office, you’ll hold the hydrogen peroxide gel on your teeth for a set amount of time each day thanks to a tray that has been customized for maximum comfort. The gel in the kit is far more powerful than anything you can get in the store, meaning it can get rid of more kinds of stains than over-the-counter whitening strips and toothpastes.

Gum Recontouring/ Crown Lengthening

Have you been told that you have a “gummy” smile? If there’s too much gum tissue visible when you pull your lips back, your teeth could end up looking disproportionately small. Using a soft-tissue laser, we can sculpt the gum line to expose more of the natural tooth in order to leave you with a brighter, more natural-looking smile. We can also use a similar procedure called crown lengthening to prepare your tooth to receive a cosmetic restoration.

Virtual Smile Design

Do you wish you could clearly see what your grin will look like after receiving veneers or teeth whitening? Thanks to modern digital imaging, you can! We can manipulate an image of your teeth using special software in order to show you the effects of a certain cosmetic process. Not only will this give you a realistic idea of what to expect, but it will also make it easier for you and Dr. Verner to work together during the planning stage.

Smile Makeovers

It’s one thing if you just have a few teeth that need to be corrected, but what if your entire smile requires a cosmetic overhaul? Over the course of a smile makeover, we’ll use any combination of procedures – from veneers to whitening to gum recontouring – in order to have your grin looking as dazzling and healthy as possible. Make sure you communicate clearly what it is you want. After all, your smile is meant to last the rest of your life; you should have a say in its final appearance!
